Food Security through combining smart technologies with traditional family values
The crucial role of so-called Family Farmers in reaching the UN Sustainable Development Goals is widely acknowledged. This is good news for the position of women and girls. All over the world, women are the linchpin of the family. Men are often the ones looking beyond borders, aiming for big, and they currently hold most of the high positions in companies and politics. Men and women need to work together to thrive!
With AGRIiSME we offer a platform and market place for women entrepreneurs to ensure that the global focus on the input of (agricultural) women in reaching the sustainability goals will not be 'instrumental', but based on an equal partnership between men and women.
We combine the family oriented entrepreneursprogram of CERES with its broad network in the meso sector (women networks, libraries, migrantcentra and schools) and with the agricultural, financial and technical expertise of macro partners. Where appropriate we use public funding and political support of governmental institutions (Governments, NEPAD, FAO, WFP, etc).
